WORTH editors and Mercedes agree that the best doesn't
necessarily cost the most. With the base price trimmed by almost
$10,000, the Mercedes S500's new retail price is $77,850. Totally
redesigned with slimmer dimensions, making it respond more nimbly
to steering and more quickly to braking, but the body remains as
spacious as the former larger model.
