Mobil Helps Truckers Go to the Extreme; Mobil Corporation Launches New Formulation of Grease for Extended Service

    FAIRFAX, Va.--Sept. 13, 1999--Mobil today initiated distribution of Mobil Delvac Xtreme Service Grease, a new heavy duty extended service truck grease. This product, which is the result of more than a year of field trials, offers customers expanded service intervals matching the extended drain intervals of Mobil's line of engine motor oils. Developed from a new grease technology, Mobil Delvac Xtreme Service Grease complements extended service fleets to keep equipment downtime and expenses to a minimum.

    Mobil Delvac Xtreme Service Grease is formulated with a high viscosity (ISO 320) base oil, a high quality lithium complex soap thickener, a high-tack polymer for excellent water-wash resistance, and an extensive anti-wear package for long component life. The grease provides superior lubrication to all truck and heavy equipment chassis grease points including: U-joints, spring pins, king pins and other steering components. It can also be used to grease fifth wheels, all pin joints, open gearing, stationary batch equipment grease points, crusher and other heavy duty slow speed antifriction bearings.
    The advanced technology of the Mobil Delvac Xtreme Service Grease allows extended intervals of up to 30,000 miles, while in the past it was necessary to grease equipment at mileage intervals of 5,000 to 15,000 miles. As oil drain intervals of 30,000 miles and more become increasingly common, products such as Mobil Delvac Xtreme Service Grease eliminate the need for unnecessary service, thus saving professional truck drivers both time and money. In addition to the money saved, Mobil Delvac Xtreme Service Grease provides excellent wear protection as well as improved resistance to fling off and water wash.
    The launch of Mobil Delvac Xtreme Service Grease provides a technology platform for upgrading the performance of a series of related greases. These reformulations will enhance off-highway automotive greases as well as a variety of industrial greases. While the off-highway greases are currently in distribution, the additions to the industrial line are expected to be available to Mobil customers in late 1999.
