Dodge Releases Pricing for All-New 2000 Dakota Quad Cab
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 1 -- The Dodge Division of
DaimlerChrysler released pricing for its all-new 2000 Dakota
Quad Cab pickup. Base price for the largest, most powerful and most capable
four-door compact pickup in the industry will begin at $19,490 for the 4x2
model, and $22,135 for the 4x4 model. Both prices include a $520 destination
charge.
"Quad Cab represents a new level of versatility in the pickup market,"
said Jim Julow, Vice President - Dodge Division. "With its bold look,
spacious interior and best-in-class capability, Quad Cab is the perfect work
truck, family truck or play truck. This is a shining example of what makes
Dodge different."
Dakota Quad Cab combines the best attributes of the class-leading and
award-winning Dakota with expanded customer comfort and convenience features.
Quad Cab is the perfect truck to reach a variety of audiences seeking an
unmatched combination of people carrying capability, power and payload
capacity. It features the segment's only six-passenger seating, the only V-8
engines in the class -- including the next-generation 4.7-liter Magnum V-8,
best-in-class towing and the largest pickup bed of any four-door compact
pickup.
Dakota Quad Cab joins the Dodge Truck family on the heels of a record-
setting year for the brand, both in sales and customer acceptance. Model year
sales in 1999 were the highest in the brand's history and the second highest
in Dakota's history. Dakota also swept both J.D. Power quality awards for the
compact pickup class in 1999 -- the Initial Quality Study and the A.P.E.A.L.
award -- along with Strategic Vision's Total Quality Award. This was the
third consecutive year that Dakota won the A.P.E.A.L. award.
"We believe we have developed a truck that will attract people who have
never considered a pickup before," Julow said. "With its large rear seat for
people and secure storage, along with a pickup bed to hold the messy stuff,
Quad Cab has a combination that can't be beat."
Production of Dakota Quad Cab began on October 6 at the Warren Truck
Assembly Plant in Warren, Mich.
