Auto Club Memberships: A Great Gift Idea

13 November 1999

LOS ANGELES--What gift provides a whole year of benefits such as 24-hour Roadside Assistance and discounts on cruises, tours, insurance and even everyday purchases at local businesses?

It's a membership with the Automobile Club of Southern California.

During the holiday season, each new gift membership purchased comes with a bonus: a talking photo cube or a certificate for a one pound box of See's(R) Candies. Gift purchasers can give the bonus as part of the gift or keep it for themselves.

Gift memberships come in a wrapped festive box filled with a temporary membership card, area maps, helpful brochures, AAA decals and more. The boxes can be shipped directly to the recipient or to the gift purchasers. Current annual membership dues are $43 plus a $20 first-year admission fee, for a first-year total of $63.

In addition to 24-hour-a-day Roadside Assistance, which includes emergency towing, battery jump-starts, flat tire service, lockout assistance and delivery of emergency fuel, AAA membership provides travel, insurance, automotive and financial services. Members also enjoy special prices on Auto Club cellular phone and paging packages, savings on everyday purchases through the Show Your Card & Save(R) program and a subscription to Westways or San Diego Westways magazines.
