Muench Motorrad Technik GmbH Presents a Bike Legend Reborn
Pioneer Friedel Muench Will be Presenting
His Futuristic Model Muench Mammut 2000 in February

                          Price Around 170,000 Marks

Transverse, In-Line Four-Stroke Engine Puts 260 Hp (191 Kw) on the Road

WUERZBURG, Germany, Nov. 15 -- Muench Motorrad Technik GmbH
in Wuerzburg will be building a new edition of the legendary motorbike Muench
Mammut in the coming year. The prototype is due to be unveiled in mid-
February 2000 and is based on the Mammut motorcycle pioneer Friedel Muench
developed in 1966. At that time, this power pack with the car engine was the
largest, heaviest, fastest and, at the same time, the most expensive motorbike
ever to go into series production, soon becoming the most sought-after
collector's item and enthusiast's dream around the world. Among fervent
riders of the old Muench are Malcolm Forbes, Luigi Colani and Gunter Sachs.
The new Muench Mammut 2000, costing around 170,000 marks, truly outshines
its predecessor. Ultramodern design, classic transverse, in-line four-stroke
dohc engine with 2000 cc and a power of 260 hp to unleash set new standards
among the 'big bikes': even the most powerful among series bikes at present
can 'only' let loose around 185 hp. Thanks to its gigantic torque of 295 Nm,
the new Muench Mammut 2000 happily accelerates to its top speed, that is
electronically restricted to 250 km/h.
With the new Muench Mammut 2000, 72-year-old Friedel Muench is achieving
something he has always dreamed of. "I wanted to put this legend on the road
once again. Thousands of loyal fans have been urging me to launch a new
edition of the Mammut in recent years." The individual construction of the
new model will again be first class and all parts built by hand. The tiny
series will be strictly limited to an edition of just 250, all of which will
only be produced to order against a down payment.
Once 249 motorcycles have been delivered, Friedel Muench will be donating
the last bike with the serial number 250 to the Deutsches Museum in Munich.
In the year 2001 it will then take its place in one of the largest exhibition
of vehicles in the world at the new traffic centre of the Deutsches Museum.
