DaimlerChrysler Hosts Workshops in Conjunction With Women's Day at the Chicago Auto ShowAUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 9 -- As the women's automotive market continues to surge in influence and buying power, DaimlerChrysler will reach out to them through a series of special workshops during Women's Day at the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Center on Tuesday, February 15. DaimlerChrysler will host five workshops, running consecutively from 10:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Each workshop is designed with the interests of women in mind and will focus on the following topics: Vehicle Maintenance, Financing/Leasing, Off Road Driving and Shopping for a New Vehicle. In addition, DaimlerChrysler's innovative "Fit for a Kid" dealer child safety seat inspection program will show parents and grandparents how to properly install child safety seats. Alarmingly, more than 80 percent of children are at risk in improperly installed child seats. "Women's Day at the Chicago Auto Show is an event dedicated to women, their accomplishments in the automotive industry and to their special concerns as vehicle owners," said Jim Holden, President of DaimlerChrysler Corporation. "Through our participation in this event, we hope to continue to expand the dialogue between women involved in the vehicle development process and women consumers. At the same time, we can educate them in different areas of the car buying and ownership experience -- which can be frustrating for women." In addition to the workshops, female employees of DaimlerChrysler who are directly involved in the design, engineering, manufacturing and marketing of the company's vehicles will be available in the Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep and Dodge exhibits to provide vehicle information and answer any questions auto show attendees may have on the products and general automotive industry topics. All women visiting the Chicago Auto Show on February 15 will receive $3.00 off the admission price of their ticket.
