DaimlerChrysler Response to Diesel Engine Applications for Dodge Ram

DaimlerChrysler Statement in Response to Future Diesel Engine Applications for Dodge Ram

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 6 DaimlerChrysler statement in
response to future diesel engine applications for Dodge Ram:

In our pursuit to offer the most powerful, durable and fuel efficient
diesel pickup truck in the market, we owe it to our customers to look at all
alternatives. At this time, a Mercedes-Benz diesel engine is being considered
in addition to the Cummins engine that is currently offered in Dodge Ram
diesel pickups. However, we are very early in the process of determining
which engine -- or engines -- will be best suited for future Dodge Ram trucks
and have not made any final decisions. We have enjoyed a strong relationship
with Cummins for many years and we hope to continue it.
