Ford Helps Military Personnel Get 'Around the World in 90 Days'

31 May 2000

DEARBORN, Mich - The contest is called "Around the World in 90 Days," and
for families located on a dozen United States Air Force bases throughout the
U.S., it's a chance to have fun with their family members and have the chance
to win a Ford Windstar SEL or Ford Focus ZTS.

For the second straight year, Ford Motor Company is participating in the
contest, part of the U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command's "Year of the Family"
promotion, and will provide the final winners with the new vehicles. Around the
World in 90 Days is a three-month long contest where players travel the globe
via telephone or the internet, receiving points at each destination that give
them the opportunity to win prizes. Ford participates in individual activities
at the various bases by providing vehicle displays, signage, and other
trinkets.

"We're very happy to support this family-oriented program that benefits
the hard-working men and women of the AMC," says James C. Schroer, Ford Motor
Company vice president - Global Marketing.

More than 22,000 military families took part in the 1999 competition, and
this year's event is expected to be even more popular.

"We are extremely pleased to have Ford Motor Company as a major sponsor
for this second year in a row," says AMC's General Charles T. Robertson.
"Ford contributed to the success of the 1999 program, and we are grateful for
their support in 2000."

The Air Mobility Command is recognized around the world as the leader in
air mobility. The AMC airlifts food, fuel, supplies and passengers worldwide
in support of Department of Defense military operations.
