Parsons Extends PIF Reimbursement Program

30 June 2000

Participating Private Inspection Facilities Will Continue to Receive Subsidy

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Parsons Infrastructure and Technology Group, the company overseeing the motor vehicle inspection program for the state of New Jersey, has extended its reimbursement program for Private Inspection Facilities until July 31, 2000.

Parsons will pay participating PIFs $10 for each initial vehicle inspection conducted. PIFs that choose to participate in the program are required to match this $10 subsidy with their own $10 discount. This will pass along a $20 saving to those motorists that use a PIF.

"We understand the importance of private inspection facilities in New Jersey's motor vehicle inspection system," said Larry Sherwood, general manager of Parsons. "That is why we have extended the time frame of this program."

Currently, there are approximately 2,000 PIF locations throughout New Jersey.
