Dot Com Company to Hand Consumers Free Cash at L.A. Area Gas Stations Today

11 July 2000

Consumer Services Site Uses Novel Gimmick to Create Attention

LOS ANGELES - LowerMyBills.com, a national consumer cross-savings(SM) service to research, compare and lower all recurring bills, announced it will counter extremely high gasoline prices by giving patrons cash back as they fill their tanks at select area gas stations today, July 11, 2000.

"There is no catch -- we want consumers to know we're here to help them save time and money," said Matt Coffin, founder and CEO, LowerMyBills.com. "Our goal is to lower consumers' gasoline bills to near last year's prices." LowerMyBills.com has found that gasoline is on average 55 cents a gallon higher than last year's prices.
LowerMyBills.com will be sending out vans filled with "SWAT teams" dressed in camouflaged outfits, roaming the pumps to hand consumers 55 cents in cash (up to $10) for every gallon they purchase.

The LowerMyBills.com "SWAT teams" will be at the Mobile station at 10570 Riverside Drive in North Hollywood from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at Universal Chevron at 3780 Cahuenga Blvd. in Studio City from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
LowerMyBills.com "SWAT teams" will be deployed at other area gas stations, as well as in several additional cities around the nation in the near future.
