OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Rent-A-Wreck of America, Inc. announced today the appointment of Thomas J. Volpe as a Director of the Company.Mr. Volpe will also serve as Chairman of the Company's Audit Committee.
Mr. Volpe brings a wealth of financial expertise to this position. As the President of Rent-A-Wreck, Ken Blum, Jr. stated, "In today's competitive environment, Thomas Volpe has exhibited strong leadership skills and innovative approaches to achieving success. Mr. Volpe is currently the Senior Vice President of Financial Operations at Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc. He has served in this capacity since March 1986. Prior to his employment at Interpublic Group of Companies, Mr. Volpe was employed at the Colgate Palmolive Company as, most recently, the Vice President and Treasurer.
Mr. Volpe has demonstrated leadership of a broad range of companies. He currently serves as Director of Alliance Atlantis Communication Inc., American Technical Ceramics and Paragon Trade Brands.
Mr. Volpe holds a B.S. degree in Economics from Brooklyn College, and an MBA from Baruch College.
