International Display Works, Inc. Introduces Color Liquid Crystal Displays for Automotive Market

24 July 2000

High Quality "Black Mask" Technology Has Promising Future

ROCKLIN, Calif. - International Display Works, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Granite Bay Technologies, today announced that it is introducing multi-color "black mask" technology displays for the 15 million unit plus per year automotive radio market. Black mask technology, as it is called, promises to compete favorably with the current standard vacuum fluorescent that requires high initial tooling costs and more support electronics than the black mask LCDs.

IDW President Mr. Tony Genovese, a recognized pioneer and innovator in the LCD field, stated, "The market for this product today is about $100 million and it is growing in application into telecom, office equipment, home appliances and many other uses. Within just a few years, it could easily surpass $250 million. During the last five months of operations, IDW sales in this segment of our business have grown from $60,000 per month to $150,000 per month for a growth rate exceeding 25% per month."

IDW is engaged in the design, manufacturing and worldwide distribution of liquid crystal displays, modules and assemblies for major OEM applications in telecommunications, automotive, industrial, medical and consumer products. IDW is wholly owned by publicly traded Granite Bay Technologies. At present, SEC filings may be accessed using the Company's former NASDAQ trading symbol of "MRRW".
