New Law Restricts Suffolk County Cell Phone Usage; Hands-Free Devices Available at THE WIZ
EDISON, N.J.--Oct. 27, 2000--If you are a Suffolk County driver who uses your hand-held mobile phone while driving, you may be wondering just what the new law banning this practice means to you. Yesterday, Suffolk County Executive Robert Gaffney signed into law a ban on using hand-held mobile phones while driving in Suffolk County. According to news reports, Suffolk is the first county in the nation to issue this ban and as of Jan. 1 it will be illegal to use a hand-held phone while driving there. Under the provisions of the legislation, drivers can continue to use their mobile phones while driving, if they use hands-free devices.THE WIZ, with six stores on Long Island and 35 additional locations throughout the tri-state area, carries a complete line of hands-free cellular phone products.
