SyVox Announces SpeechNet(R) Logistics Enhanced Speech-Based SolutionTurnkey Installation and User-Friendly Features Quicken Implementation And Increase Logistics Productivity BOULDER, Colo., Nov. 1 SyVox Corporation, a global leader in interactive speech-based solutions for mobile workers, announced today the availability of SpeechNet(R) Logistics, a new generation of speech applications for the warehousing and logistics marketplace. Formerly known as RxP, SpeechNet Logistics offers an enhanced object-oriented design that facilitates turnkey installation, along with an upgraded Administration Console and Prompt Manager providing improved user and management features that increase logistics productivity. "Speech is being accepted as the most natural interface for hands- and eyes-free data access in mobile environments," said Ivan Perez-Mendez, Ph.D., president and CEO of SyVox Corporation. "We are seeing excitement in the marketplace for SpeechNet Logistics because it addresses the hurdles associated with the implementation of a speech-based solution. SpeechNet Logistics provides the enhanced management tools and system flexibility that dramatically decrease implementation time." Turnkey Installation Capitalizing on SyVox's extensive experience in warehousing and logistics operations, SpeechNet Logistics uses object-oriented design to create a more flexible application architecture. Via work flow objects, small information components containing business rules that document speech dialogues, the system can be configured to customer business practices while eliminating all custom development. Additional enhancements for scalability and fault resilience provide features for customer growth or mission critical applications. User-Friendly Features Enhancements in the Administration Console and Prompt Manager provide improved management and user features. The enhanced Administration Console, with a graphical user interface, facilitates local and remote management and reporting. This enables customers to configure the application to inherent business practices over a secure remote Internet connection, using the SpeechNet Control Unit to facilitate configuration changes. Changes can also be made via password-controlled local access to the SpeechNet Control Unit. In addition, a Monitoring Module provides productivity statistics and operation reports, such as real-time, on-screen productivity and management reports for time and attendance. End-of-shift reports can be run automatically and archived to use or print later. An improved, industry-leading Prompt Manager extends the flexibility of prompts available to the end user. Using the warehouse environment as an example, five different warehouse workers in the same application may speak five different native languages. The enhanced Prompt Manager provides customers with the flexibility to change the language spoken to the user and uses a true translation feature that allows for simultaneous multi-language translation between users. The system currently supports English, Dutch, French, German and Spanish. More on SpeechNet Applications SyVox provides standardized, market-specific applications, complemented by third-party hardware and accessories. SyVox SpeechNet(R) Applications provide standard, yet configurable speech-based solutions to aid the performance of mobile workers, requiring minimal customer effort at implementation. An interactive speech-based solution, SpeechNet Logistics enables warehouse workers to hear instructions through a headset earpiece and to communicate verbally with the data management system through a wireless network. SpeechNet Logistics is easy for management to deploy and requires no end-user knowledge of computers.
