The Favorite Cars of Comparison Shoppers: November 2000 PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 12 InvoiceDealers, The Leader in
Automotive Comparison Shopping, released the favorite cars, trucks, SUVs and
minivans of online comparison shoppers in November 2000.
About the Study
The Comparison Shopping Popularity Index(SM) calculates each vehicle's
popularity using a proprietary weighted formula. The study results are derived
from online selections made by car shoppers who view, compare, and choose from
instant competing price quotes on the InvoiceDealers system.
November Results
The Honda Accord, Honda Civic and Toyota Camry took gold, silver and
bronze in Cars for the sixth consecutive month, while the Volkswagen Jetta
came in fourth.
The Ford F-Series was crowned the favorite truck for the ninth time with
the Chevrolet Silverado leading the followers.
The SUVs played musical chairs on the Popularity Index. When the music
stopped, the Dodge Durango landed on top for the first time, followed by last
month's favorite the Ford Escape. The Ford Explorer, a seven-time champ,
dropped from third to fifth, a possible aftermath of the tire recall. Coming
in last was the Ford Expedition, a long time runner-up to the Explorer.
The Toyota Sienna upset the ever-dominant Honda Odyssey for only the
second time this year. The Nissan Quest returned to the Index after a one
month absence.
