Jeep Grand Cherokee Earns 2000 Polk Automotive Loyalty Award
Three-Time Winner for the Brand's Luxury Sport-Utility Vehicle

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 9 The Chrysler Group announced
that the Jeep Grand Cherokee has once again won the Polk Automotive Loyalty
Award. The Grand Cherokee also earned this award in both 1997 and 1999.
Competing in the mid-sized sport-utility segment, the Grand Cherokee competed
with vehicles such as the Ford Explorer and Lexus RX300.
"Consumers pay close attention to the Polk Automotive Loyalty Award
because it measures their interactions and experiences at the dealership
level," said Stephen Polk, Chairman and CEO of Polk. "We are very glad that
the Jeep Grand Cherokee has for the third time been recognized."
The Polk Automotive Loyalty Award recognizes manufacturers and their
supporting dealer bodies for superior performance in customer treatment and
repurchase rates. It is the only award in the industry based on consumer
loyalty. Awards are based on actual consumer transactions, with over five
million household records per year being analyzed to determine the winners.
"The Jeep Grand Cherokee is designed, engineered and built upon the
combination of heritage and capability that has made the Jeep brand the most
highly regarded name in the sport-utility segment," said Tom Marinelli, Vice
President, Chrysler/Jeep Global Brand Center, DaimlerChrysler Corporation.
"But as important, this award underscores the fact that our company and our
dealerships have been dedicated to something that no great brand can do
without -- unparalleled customer satisfaction."
The Grand Cherokee is the flagship of the Jeep brand, earning a solid
reputation for combining luxury with unmatched capability. When first
introduced for 1993, Grand Cherokee elevated the sport-utility vehicle market
to a new level. It was completely redesigned for 1999, and since then has
been one of the most critically acclaimed vehicles in this extremely
competitive segment.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee will continue to be built at the Jefferson North
Assembly Plant in Detroit.
