Honda Puts blink-182 In the Driver Seat of Civic Tour 2001
VENICE, Calif., Feb. 15 Civic Tour 2001 will kick off on
April 30 with pop-punk band, blink-182, rocking the roof off the Paramount in
Seattle. Honda selected the southern California band, featuring San Diego-
natives Mark Hoppus (bass/vocals), Tom DeLonge (guitar/vocals) and Travis
Barker (drums), to power the first leg of the inaugural Civic Tour. The Civic
Tour marks Honda's latest venture into the music arena and will be an integral
part of its coordinated marketing efforts to introduce the completely
redesigned 2001 Honda Civic to the contemporary youth market.

With their hard-driving sound and renowned comedic antics, blink-182 has
quickly risen to pop-icon status, reaching beyond their core surfing/skating
audience to capture the ears and eyes of young adults everywhere. Since
signing with MCA Records in 1996, blink-182's albums have sold more than
6,000,000 copies, with their latest studio release, Enema of the State,
reaching quadruple-platinum and their live CD, The Mark, Tom and Travis Show
(The Enema Strikes Back), debuting at No. 8 on the Billboard Music Charts.

Through Civic Tour 2001, Honda brings blink-182's infamous live
performances to nine cities in eleven days, while also giving fans nationwide
the chance to be part of the excitement through two sweepstakes promotions.
Beginning in March, fans can enter to win a new 2001 Civic Coupe custom-
designed by the outrageous members of blink-182, by logging on to the Civic
Tour micro-site at civictour.com. The customized "blink-182 Civic" will tour
the country with the band, to be showcased at the concert venues.
Additionally, the "Meet the Band" sweepstakes will award a grand-prize trip
for two to a blink-182 Civic Tour concert, including a chance to meet the band
before the show.

Civic Tour 2001, featuring blink-182 and produced by Venice-based
marketingfactoryinc., is scheduled to visit the following cities (dates and
venues subject to change). Tickets for all cities will go on sale beginning
Saturday, April 14 through Ticketmaster.
